The character building of mage is very important since it can determine your character’s future. A properly built mage will survive well. However, if the character is not well built, it will suffer a lot when it comes to combating. Here’s how to built your mage properly:
1. If you want, stick with maximum of 2 element types attacks. One for main attack, which you should learn many attacks and enhance its mastery, and one for side attack that you will use when your mana is low, or to increase versatility.
(Note: don’t master any bolts in the earlier levels, especially when you don’t have enough mana.)
2. Always master one of your bolts and use it as your main attack. Since other more advanced attacks have cool-downs (seconds of delay after used, cannot fire rapidly), bolt will be the most deadly attack since it doesn’t have cool-downs and has high damage if you max the attack (max is 10).
3. Other attacks are good too, unlike bolts; higher-level attacks have damage at level one that equals to the damage of a max bolt, and most of them have area damage that can save your life. However, I do not suggest using these attacks often since they drain mana rapidly.
4. Protection skills should not be ignored! Mana shield and teleport can save a mage’s life. (Read Previous PG) Mana shield should be almost maxed, since it will be a mage’s main defence. Teleport, however, should stay at level 1, since every skill point will only decrease its mana requirement by a bit.
5. For stats, try to put them in 2 main categories: STR and INT. STR increases 3 hp for every point you put in there, and INT obviously increase your magic attack. DEX, however, should only be put to an average level: 30 maximum. DEX increases your defence and accuracy, but it’s not that useful for a mage since mastery automatically increases accuracy, and defence won’t change much. Another debatable stat is LUCK, I added 5 stat points in luck just for the higher frequency of drops and critical damages; don't add too much in luck, max is 10.
