Equipment
There are three groups of equipment: normal, magic, and rare.
Normal equipment can be bought in a store or found from normal enemies. The most basic equipment, it should be traded in for rare or magic equipment depending on char level.
Magic equipment can only be crafted by using a halcon. Magic weapons cannot be made as powerful as rare weapons, but after level 30, magic armor can be crafted to surpass most rare armor. Mages and Archers should make armor with high level defense halcons. Clerics and Warriors should make armor with high level magic defense halcons.
Rare equipment can only be found by defeating boss monsters. There are three types of rare equipment, Junk rares, Dragon rares, and God rares.
Junk rares are Mithril/Rimurasil rares. The only provide a slight increase in defense over other types of item.
Dragon rares make the best armor for low levels, but the weapons should be avoided as they are less powerful than god weapons and carry a resistance penalty. The four types are black dragon for physical resistance, white dragon for lightning resistance, blue dragon for ice resistance, and red dragon for fire resistance. Black dragon weapons are especially weak as they only raise magic damage rather.
God rares are weapons named after 1 of the four gods. Raa is the prinicpal god of the four, but his weapons only carry magic attack. Hamat is the goddess of water, her weapons carry ice elemental ATK. Jolkan is the god of lightning, and Prana is the god of fire. With the exception of Raa, all the god weapons are equal. Many players swear that one god or another is better, but after numerous tests, I have found them all to be exactly the same.
Due to a possible bug in the damage system, elemental items give both ATK and MATK increases for the amount of the elemental damage. This means that only wizards should use Raa's weapons as they are the only ones who need MATK regardless of ATK. All other classes should trade up to Hamat, Jolkan, or Prana ASAP.
